Back in 1961, Cliff and Judy Hahn, along with Ken and Barb Hahn, purchased the Orihula Ballroom just a short drive from Fremont. It started as a hobby for the young couples who were both operating farms and raising small children. The Ballroom was a large hall with no insulation and two coal furnaces for heat. The only running water was in the bathrooms and one line to the "bar". The "bar" was plywood on a frame and was painted pink. The "kitchen" consisted of a counter, a refrigerator, a very small grill and a pop tank. No water!
In 1966, Cliff and Judy and their two sons, left the farm, bought out Ken & Barb and began transforming the Ballroom into what it is today. In the 1970's land was purchased and the Hahn-a-Lula Resort expanded by adding mobile homes for lodging and a spring-fed lake, complete with sandy beach, was dug.
In the past 60+ years, Cliff and Judy along with the help of family members and many dedicated employees have transformed Hahn's. The business has gone from a simple hall and bar to a modern resort complete with camping sites, RV park, swimming beach and fishing access. Hahn's is your perfect getaway a short drive from Waupaca or Appleton.
